I'm just spitting theory, of course. We'll likely know the whole story in due time.

Waiting on a bit more info in general. Showing 1 - 7 of 7 comments. Under 2 percent of gamers use sli they arent going to implement it. Sli only works with vulkan and still produces unbearable flickering when using TAA.

Without TAA the game looks worse then first rdr. The fps gain is good but not as good as gta5, the frame times are bad but very playable. I m not expecting the latter Edit : BTW the mixed results on the evga forums are because some fools just lie or run the game for 10 seconds without flicker and think they fixed it. Nobody with sli can play this game with TAA and not suffer the flickering.

As we saw with SLI, that may not happen. As for SLI, if Nvidia and games developers do push for NVLink compatibility, it could be the final nail in the coffin for the older tech. Perhaps the biggest limiting factor was the law of diminishing returns, which multi-GPU systems encounter. It gets even worse if you add a third or fourth GPU — as the performance increase gets smaller each time.

It ends up being a very costly way to get a bump in performance. As many PC gamers realised, a far more reliable and affordable way to get a boost in performance is to buy a single more powerful GPU, rather than two or more less powerful cards. Running more graphics cards ups the power consumption of your PC increasing electricity bills and also produces more heat — leading to a noisier PC. This started to take its toll on my GTXwhich only managed an average of 49fps with these settings, but it still looked nice and smooth in the benchmark and was more than playable in-game.

To help push that number back up a bit, turn Shadow Quality back down to Medium and turn Anisotropic Filtering back down to x2. Perhaps more surprising was what little difference the Texture Quality makes. These are locked by default and change automatically depending on what quality preset you decide to settle on, but you can easily unlock them so you can change them manually. The regular GTX and older GTX need a teensy bit of tweaking before they can hit that kind of speed, but all it takes is a couple of settings tweaks and you can enjoy largely High settings on those cards at p without compromising on frame rate.

Visually there is little difference in-between the normal to the most complex mode settings. Let's start off with Full HD test the graphics cards based on the quality settings we've shown you. Please make note of the fact that the Nano and Fury cards had lower quality enabled due to a 4GB graphics memory cap.

The results are not the internal benchmark which is painstakingly buggy once you switch a resolution at day-1 of release but also incredibly long to run, this is real gameplay at Chapter one, Colter.
